Gendarmenmarkt is a beautiful and prestigious square in Berlin and perhaps one of the most stunning squares in Europe. Adorned with the magnificent buildings of the French as well as German Churches and the Concert House, this square is an old and historic site as well as a modern place of reckoning.
Just strolling around the square will give one a wonderful sense of history as well as a great insight into the life today in Berlin. There is an amazing sight to see here: the Magnificient Concert house flanked on both sides by the French and German “domed” churches when lit up in yellow at night. The sight is truly something people would remember the city by. All three buildings were damaged during the Second World War and all 3 have been restored to their former glory. History, modernity and beauty come together at this place to give you an amazing melange that will stay with you for a long time.

Lovely part of the city that has been well restored following the war. The Christmas market was lovely but too busy at weekends as numbers were not controlled, great place any time of year really
Amazing market! I went to several in the city, and this one is by far the best. Great food and amazing quality gifts. A bit more expensive than the others but you get what you pay for.
Best market we visited! Well worth the €1 you pay after 2pm. Although can get busy. Entertainment was great!
Fantastic setting for a Christmas Market between such beautiful buildings, there is a stage with entertainment and a giant disco ball which was hilarious. You have to pay €1 into the market but it has great food spots and bars in the market and around the square. Really enjoyed our visit here.
Superb Christmas market, elegant in a lovely setting Amazing arts and crafts make great Christmas presents. Bit pricey but quite unique. Great sit down heated places to eat. Thoroughly enjoyed
