Helmut Newton is a known name amongst photography enthusiasts. To win ‘Grand prix la photographie’ is a dream for most photographers and Helmut Newton has received many such awards. He was born in Berlin and his life is nothing short of a long and an interesting travelogue. He went on to become an Australian citizen after serving the Australian army for 5 years. Later he moved to Paris then Monaco and finally passed away in the glamorous city of New-York. He married Alice Springs who was a well-known photographer herself and had a very fulfilling life with her. His life and works can be traced by visiting the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin. Needless to say, this museum-gallery is a complete treat to the eyes.

Helmut Newton Foundation Reviews & Ratings
An incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with one of THE masters of photography. Been wanting to come here for a while and happy to have finally visited. Inspiring & satisfying to say the least.
Helmut Newton my favorite photographer and the Foundation has made an incredible job making sure his name and work is nicely exhibited in this museum. Highly recommended.
A superb museum of photography, not only Helmut Newton's work. The bookshop is outstanding. The ground floor is devoted to Newton, with lots of ephemera and so on. Climbing the central staircase, one comes face to face with the well-known Big Nudes, wonderfully placed. The upper floors have changing exhibitions, often of work by photographers with some connection to Newton, and also of his own work, of course. Again, the presentation is of a high standard, although sometimes reflections are a problem. Highly recommended.
If you are a photography fan this is a must visit. An intimate space and incredible collection and showcase of Helmut Newtons work.
The bookstore is amazing, it’s like an additional exhibition in the gallery. Anybody who’s interested in photography would definitely enjoy it! But I wasn’t very happy when someone from the staff literally shouted at me and didn’t allow to buy a book though it was still 3 minutes before the closing time and his colleagues didn’t mind to accept my purchase (I know it because I asked them). This isn’t exactly the sort of experience you expect to get in the best in the country gallery.
