The Memorial Jewish Cemetery is an iconic historical place to visit when you are in Berlin. One of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in the country, the Memorial Jewish Cemetery can be traced back as far as the late seventeenth century. You can walk through the cemetery and explore the grounds which were destroyed by Nazis in the 1940s and later converted into a memorial in honour of the Jewish victims. The original gravestones have been largely destroyed but you can still see some of the old markers. Do visit the sculpture of Jewish Holocaust victims inside the memorial which was installed in 1985 and continues to be a major draw for tourists.
