Berlin is a representative of a city that has risen from the ashes. It has seen some major torturous events and some history that every citizen of Berlin tries to forget. But, it is also an act of bravery that they have come out of the past and have made Berlin one of the best cities to live in today. German Resistance Memorial Centre is an example of such a thought process. It was opened in the year 1980. Today, it acts like a memorial to the horrendous past of Germany where victims are remembered. The incidents of the past are researched upon and the documents are analyzed. It is a great place to go and understand the series of events that shook Germany.

Memorial To The German Resistance Reviews & Ratings
The exhibit was very modern with an appropriate amount of information. From the very first moment it was clear that our guide knew the what she was talking about and who she was talking to (a group of foreign students). She was definitely one of best guides that I've experienced. Although we visited on a Saturday the place was relatively quiet. The stories about resistance against socialist Germany were well selected and interesting. The fact that the history has direct ties with the building was a nice touch. Great place worth a visit for all interested in history, told from a different perspective.
Interesting collection although the emphasis on Stauffenberg and the Wolfs Lair assassination attempt makes one wonder how much other resistance really existed. Also, it is free but was empty. That is in contrast to the multitude of school groups on Museum Island. The government pays for this but it doesn't appear to be very interesting or important to the Berliners.
Sobering reminder about the sacrifices these brave souls made to make sure that the extreme right wing fanatics didn't destroy their homeland. Well maintained and so much information to absorb. Totally recommend visiting.
Very informative and well presented. Lots of in depth information about resistance during the war years. Need a couple of hours to see everything.
Worth a quick visit to see the courtyard in which the 20th of July plotters were summarily executes.
