The Museum Island is worth a visit even just for its old-timey charm and the sheer grandeur when it is lit up at night. It is undoubtedly a beautiful place but it holds such an important chunk of cultural heritage that its beauty is enhanced manifold.
Museum Island in the name given to the 5 museums, out of the 17 state museums which are housed in the northern part of an island on the Spree river.

This is a great place to see museums as there are numerous on the island and nearby. If you want to see a few museums you can buy a deal to get access to most of them for a good price. Keep in mind that this place gets really busy as a result and you may have to wait in line. If you can come during the weekdays you will have less lines, but likely more school kids. Make sure you walk around the island as the buildings are so large they actually hide the other large buildings.
Great place with 5 museums to see while in Berlin. If you want to see them all do take discount card with Berlin Pass. For me is interesting that new rising power Germany wanted to create museums to be equal to Britain, France and Italy and they more or less succeeded. Museums are impressive but for me is most interesting to see still remains of WW2 in some parts not fully renovated or with some empty places with note that it is taken by Russians and still not returned.
Great, you can spend the whole day here!! Make some time to look round. Lockers are provided. There are long queues
An island with very fascinating, impressive and historically important buildings, like the palace of tears, the new synagogue, Reichstag (also a must-see from the inside, but book at least 2 working days in advance) and more. The walk is beautiful but I recommend the “historic city cruise”, where you learn not only about the role these monuments have played in the German history. Location: You can get on this boat on multiple locations on the river the Spree.
Amazing! There are all kinds of antiques and ancients, including gates from Syria, some pieces of architecture from Iraq, the whole Rome, most importantly the original "Nefertiti Bust". There are so many museums in the island and there are many things to see. I'd recommend to go there early.
