Deeg was once the capital of the Jats. In the 18th century, Maharaja Badan Singh of the Jats built a palace here. This place is the point of the legendary battle between Jats and Mughals. The beautiful setting of the palace had been the envy of many kings from the time it was built. Since many invaders attacked it over the years, a fortress was built around this palace. The palace faces the beautiful lake of Deeg. The best time you can visit this place is during the festival of Holi. At that time, the lake looks like a rainbow because of the many colors that fill it. This is one of the most beautiful places in Bharatpur and also a must visit.
