Overview of Lohagarh Fort

Built in the early 18th century, the majestic Lohagarh Fort boasts of being one of the strongest fort ever built in the history of India. The Bharatpur Jat Ruler, Maharaj Suraj Mal constructed it with a clear intention of protecting it from invaders. The fort is surrounded by water on all sides and is accessible only by two gates which can be operated only from within. The fort is famous for being able to withstand repeated attacks by the British forces in 1805.
