Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneshwar Reviews
Beautiful zoo with wide variety of animals- huge tigers, lions, white tigers, crocodiles. Good collection of birds and reptiles also. It takes at least 4-5 hours to see the zoo properly. Good RO Water facility and clean washrooms at decent distances. U can carry camera, mobile for clicking pictures. If u have interest, detailed info of each is given. Safaris are closed. It was a Saturday when we visited, so little crowded. The zoo ticket gate closes at 5pm.
It's an excellent choice for hangout with family on weekends. It is a vast area with animals protected in cages. A large variety of fauna is found here. Animals and birds from different countries can be seen here. There are many endangered species found here. It is a polythene free zone and you are not allowed to carry polythene bags or any eatable except dry food. Facility of drinking water and toilets are provided inside the park. When you walk along the roads, it seems like you're walking through a forest.
Nice Zoological park.... The main factors was that it had nearly every sort of fauna species available inside...be it from reptiles to fiery mammals like the great Bengal tiger... The plus point was the Aviary..and the boating facility...(amazing)😀 The overall cleanliness was good and management was fine... Overall a sure shot for the India's best Zoological park..
Covers a huge area, you will definitely get tired at the end. Better to take a guide rather than the electric vehicles. The guide will take you to the points of attraction through shortcuts. The reptile section has no match within India. The Crocs, turtles and Snakes many varieties are present. You must also visit the bird section. Many shops are there outside the main gate. You will find juice bar inside, but we couldn't find any eatery inside.
Very unique place to be with anybody you want to be with. Good thing is that they have gone for a plastic free environment. You can see a large variety of animals and birds. Best time to visit is from Autumn to spring. You can avail the battery operated cart for your tour also if you are not able to walk the whole park. A bigger and better food court is needed. Improvements can be done for the pedestrian to escape from the heat. Although it's not good to keep the animals in captivity, but still a good place to be to see the animals with your own eyes
