The Nandankanan Zoological Park, as the name suggests, is really a ‘garden of heaven’. The area also includes the beautiful Kanjia Lake and is covered by the Chandaka Forest. The zoological park is popular for housing one of the rare species of tigers, the white tiger. The jungle safari and the chance to spot the white tigers in the forest make this a popular spot. Apart from the tigers, the zoo houses other varieties of wild animals in their natural habitats. The necessary security facilities and guides are also available here.

Nandankanan Zoological Park, Bhubaneshwar Reviews - Write a Review
Indeed they have a good collection of animals. But this zoo is unique than most zoos I have seen so far. 1. The safari in the zoo 2Ropeway and toy train(though now not functional) 3.boating. 4.it gives a feeling of being in a forest rather than seeing animals in a concrete cage. 5.Their strict rules of not carrying any plastic bags inside. And not only do they preach or diktat this but make sure that all eatables are transferred into paper bags. A good initiative.
Hire Guide. It will make your trip easier. We had hired a guide named Ulhas Jena and he was too good. He knew all the names of the animals in the zoo and was very polite and humble in his approach. The zoo is well maintained.
A wonderful place for wildlife lovers. Kids love the place. The zoo is well maintained and spacious. Typically not crowded except during winters. However, it's very spread out and the available electric cars are inadequate for the demand.
Can spend entire day easily. A nice place to be with family. Don't miss the boat ride. Hope toy train and rope way will be reactivated soon.
Must visit place along with kids. One of the best zoological parks. Many wild animals, birds, reptiles to see. Children will love to visit here. Must enjoy white tiger safari. Battery operated vehicle for zoo round. Well maintained.
