  • Thanks for preserving such history.. Museum staff are very nice.. Nice place to visit specially for children. They can learn & see a lot & can gain much knowledge. Maintenance of the museum needs to be improved. AC is not running & the 1 hour show is very old show.. I have watched the same show when I was 12 yrs young. New videos should be shown. Overall a nice place to visit.

  • It has very good collection of fossil , and well described about the flora fauna and biodiversity of different regions of India. Some fossils are not in good condition . You can learn a lot from it . You should definitely take your kids there. The entry is free.

  • Good experience. The aquatic section is really amazing. Stuffed animals are displayed. Skeletons of whales, specimens of many aquatic animals. The collection of butterflies is also amazing, even the insects. The centre of the museum has an elephant skeleton. It's beautiful. Also there's a skeleton of African Rhino. Lot of written as well as pictorial information and paintings to give us an idea. I liked it. There's also collection of sea shells n conchs. Turtle and tortoise skeleton. A variety of snakes as well. I was amazed by the bay skeleton, rat and flying squirrel skeleton. There also are cross sectional skeleton. Bird's nest. There's a specimen of the world's largest egg, of the Elephant Bird. They have a collection of ores as well. Recommended for both adults and children. ♥

  • Worth 3.5 Star! What I read: *** The museum is accessible for visually & Physically challenged visitors***. The Goal of the Museum: ==================== The museum is intended to impart informal environmental education to the public and the students in particular – to improve the awareness of flora, fauna and subsequent conservation of our natural resources. = History of eastern, north-eastern Indian and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. = Galleries based on the theme of conservation of nature and natural resources = Themes defining inter-relationship between plants and animals = Based on it’s huge collection, this museum is considered as the third best regional museum of natural history in India (out of five). = Operational from 2004. My comments: #. Aesthetically designed building with Four Limbs & a Central Courtyard #. Good landscape, right from the entry. #. Reasonably well maintained #. A great place for students and children to gain knowledge on nature! #. Entry Free (Registration is needed) #. Timing : 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM #. Reasonable directions and explanations #. An equipped Auditorium (was locked) #. Need 2 to 4 Hours to cover, if one is serious #. Many parts are old and need updates #. Proper promotion is missing Thanks for reading the Review & Photos! • This museum is nicely located and the entry is free. The museum remains open on all days of week except Monday and Government holidays. I have visited this museum several times and earlier it used to be good to visit this place. However, a constant state of deterioration can be seen in the exhibits (reason unknown) recently. Also, at present, not all galleries are air-conditioned. 2 stars for not keeping the museum well maintained. Would love to rate higher, if things are improved, though.
