The highest point of the Rann Of Kutch, the Kalo Dungar is a unique landscape of black hills from where you will have a panoramic vista of the Great Rann Of Kutch. A strange phenomenon that you can experience at Kalo Dungar is the upward movement of the cars at a speed of 80 kilometres per hour even when the ignition is off and it happens due to the optical illusion of the landscape where the horizon is obscured and the downward gradient seems like upward. The highlight of the hills is the Dattatreya Temple dating back to four hundred years where the idol of Dattatreya, a triune incarnation of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar is revered. The small black hills around the vast expanse and some wild jackals running around the temple are the unique characteristics of the hills.
