Shree Swaminarayan Temple Bhuj - Review

Pay a visit to this divine place that offers an insight to the Hindu rituals. This grand marble temple has turned into one of the most searched place of worship in India. The intricate marble carving on the walls of the temple will definitely grab your eyes. Though the temple appears to be crowded but you will still find corners where you can sit and enjoy the serene ambience of the place.

Evening hours are usually recommended for the visit as the whole temple gets decked with lights. And that sight is definitely mesmerizing. If possible then try to get hold of their limited free dinner coupons available for outsiders to enjoy their finger-licking Prasad.

  • Swaminarayan temple is a famous Hindu temple in Bhuj, Gujarat. In the year 2001, due to the earthquake in Bhuj, the original Swaminarayan temple was destroyed but miraculously the divine idols remained as they were without any damage. After that a small distance of the new temple of Lord Swaminarayan was built with fine quality of white marbles and original divine idols were allowed by the permission of the new temple. The carving of this temple is really very impressive Its a must visit tourist spot.

  • Great place to be relaxed... Get some peace... Vast area... Do note the temple is shut of visit between 12 on to 3pm in the afternoon. Also note women are not allowed in the inner sanctum of the temple. They do also have lunch & dinner facility. Yeah... But they charge you for prashad... Which i think is very bad thing

  • The original Swaminarayan temple was destroyed during the devastating earthquake of 2001 but miraculously the divine idols remained as they were without any damage. Thereafter at a short distance the new temple of Lord Swaminarayan was built with fine quality of white marbles and original divine idols were shifted to the new temple with the permission of authority. It is great place to be relaxation. But please note that the temple is shut between 12 pm to 3pm in the afternoon. Also note that women are not allowed in the inner sanctum of the temple. They serve lunch and dinner for a fee and yes prashad is not free. But they charge you for prashad. This new temple like all Swaminarayan temples is huge and well maintained and so is this temple. On Diwali this temple takes on a magical beauty due to innumerable diyas (lamps). The carving of this temple is really very impressive. Its a must visit for tourists visiting Bhuj.
