Junagadh Fort - Review
Located in the arid regions of the Thar Desert in Rajasthan the Junagarh Fort is a precious gem of Indian architecture. It was built by the infamous Raja Rai Singh of Bikaner. He held a high position in the court of the Mughal Emperor Akbar and received huge sums of revenues through which he funded the fort’s construction. It started in 1589 and was completed by 1594. The Raja was extremely fond of art and architecture and as a result the fort is a hybrid of Rajasthani as well as Mughal style of architecture.
Over the course of generations renovations and additions were made making it an amalgamation of the best of Indian, Mughal and British styles. It has 7 gates and several pavilions with Hindu and Jain temples. It has 6 huge halls built for separate purposes from entertaining the guests to royal suppers to study and many more. The Anupmahal being one of the most beautiful of all, its ceilings inlaid with mirrors and Italian tiles and fine lattices. A must visit place indeed.

Junagadh Fort, Bikaner Reviews
First off all it's speechless... Its workmanship is remarkable!! Beautiful.. There's a museum in which as we all know the architectural primitives stored there! The view was very beautiful from the top of the fort.. Its has more than hundred no. Of rooms.. Things which gone be seen there was a silver door, silver throne.. work done on the walls were remarkable ..
Very beautiful place, a historical place, it tells us the history of the city and also a famous place in local and international people who visit her. It also have a good idea for water exit if city get too much rain, so it was a very good idea and science and engineering in that time. Cheaper place for visit not that expensive and also it is in the main city.
Lovely place. Don' t go in Summers. Perfect to visit in Winters. You can even take your Cameras inside to get some cool shots like the ones below. Tickets are reasonably priced. And the Museum is awesome. Loved my experience here. Would definately come again.
Overall the experience at the fort was very good. It's an example of architectural magnificence. Though for one thing. The guide service there is free. An old man was acting as the guide for our group. At first he was very friendly and was telling us everything in detail. Then he became overfriendly with our family. He started clicking pictures for us, without us requesting for it. He then started taking my single pictures. When the tour was about to end, to my surprise he asked for my phone number and when my answer was in negative after telling him that I can give him my father's number. To this he that he doesn't need my father's number. Junagarh fort gave my good memories but along with it there is this strange instance too.
What a place! History comes alive. Times takes a stand and you feel at if you have travelled to a different era. The fort is so magnificent. Architecture has it's own story to narrate through the carving and floral painting work. It also has a museum attached to it. Experience through museum is so free of commercialization of history, as you experience at other historical places A day can be will spent if you have even an inch inclination towards history, art, architecture or even sheer craving to be away from the maddening crowd!
