About Biloxi Visitors Center, Biloxi

Visit this USD 11 million museum before you go anywhere else in the city; you could not have a better introduction to the city. The museum is right next to the Biloxi lighthouse, and makes for an architecturally pretty picture on the outside. On the inside though, the multi-media exhibits make for an intense and intimate look into Biloxi, its people, history and culture, with a lot of the other items on display created by local artists. Highlights are:

  • Locally sourced Biloxi memorabilia.
  • The 10 minute We Are Biloxi movie exhibit that plays continuity.
  • Note that the structure looks like the Dantzler house, which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

The venue is also host to Biloxi and Biloxi Bay chambers of commerce, and if you wish, you can hire it for corporate or other private functions.

  • It's more than just a visitor center. It's a nice museum and it provides interesting local history. It's free.

  • My husband spent a year of his life at a technology class at Keesler A.F. Base in 1964. After making some purchases in the beautiful gift store, we stopped by the front desk. Amanda Williams was friendly, patient, and was a encyclopedia on Biloxi!! Not only did she talk about the history of Biloxi but told us about the exciting things happening now! She directed us to the Public Library (where Jane Shambra) located tons of 1964 history for my husband, He was truly excited to reminisce. Amanda also directed us to a variety of great cafes and restaurants!!! Thank you for a memorable week in Biloxi!!!! Celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, Don and Michaelene King.

  • Friendly and informative. Great history of the area. Very knowledgable staff .

  • Very friendly informative staff. If you are unsure what to do on the Coast I would make this a place to start on the first day. They have great suggestions and ideas of things to do as well as contact information for some great restaurants, charter fishing, tours, events and local entertainment. There is a lot of information on Biloxi as well as some great artwork by local artist. The building itself can also be rented out for events, weddings, social gatherings etc.
