Memorial Stadium, Bloomington Reviews
Imagine attending a sporting even in an immaculate stadium among courteous, qualified staff, amongst polite and knowledgeable fans and rowdy yet good natured co-eds. Imagine a team of quailty college athlete's playing for the love of the sport. So much so it raises the level of their opponents. Now Imagine the jumbo trons and lighting glow with a near new perfection. That the marching band holds to the same standards. That the American flag is both prominent and clean, the the stadium food is simple, hot, fresh and fairly priced. That the only cussing is heard from the student section following a moment of questionable officiating. That the tail gating is under control, spread out for miles and the participants keep their areas clean. Can you see and experience college football in near perfection? Yes. It's here. IU and memorial stadium, you are the best of American values. Well done.
The stadium itself is great. The staff is friendly. Concession stands are easy to get in and out of. My complaints are the Wi-Fi and cellular coverage is bad or non-existent. Signage for parking around the stadium could be a little better too. It can be a little confusing to park if you don't attend games on a regular basis.
It was hard at my age to climb all the stairs, but I did, because I was there to see my granddaughter's graduation. She was the first grandchild to graduate and did it in three years. She loved going to school at Indiana University!
My first visit to an IU football game. I can honestly say, I don't have the urge to come back anytime soon. We sat in section 11 row 42 seats 11-13. Couldn't have been a more foul smelling, foul mouthed, drunk infested area in the stadium. I was embarrassed to call myself a Hoosier fan tonight.
The Nutrition Center was a welcome option during heavy downpours last weekend. Requires designation on your ticket 'TNC' to be able to access.
