Monroe Lake Park, Bloomington Reviews
The bathrooms are disgusting... !! The beach is tiny and rocky ..wear your shoes. Nice picnic area and lake is huge..
NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Went here to see how our dog would do in the water. The sign leading to the beach says "All pets must be on a leash." Don't be fooled. As soon as they see your dog they will either ask you to leave or send you on a ~10 minute walk to the muddy areas of water that are conveniently not visible to the other beachgoers. What's worse is the people at the entrance saw our dog when we came in and didn't give us a heads up about any of the restricted areas for pets.
Great place for a trail run.
Pate Hollow trail is great for running!
This review is only for the lake Monroe. Pros: 1. Pretty big lake. 2. Great scenery. Things I didn't like this place. 1. Too many people. 2. So too many motor boats in the lake. 3. A lot of campers. 4. This place is not for people who are looking to spend quality time in nature. 5. They ask $9(for non Indiana residents) to get inside and I didn't think it was worth it. 6. Mosquitos and insects all over the place, may be because of the littering and so many people.
