The Cone Manor Reviews & Ratings

  • Beautiful area to walk on well groomed pathways. We walked up to the manor past the Apple Barn and came back down by Duncan trail to Bass Lake where there is parking. Manor hosts historical information and local artists. No admission charge and they had videos running every 15 minutes (two different alternating videos). The carriage house next door has restrooms and appears to be the starting point for horseback rides. Grounds are well groomed and very picturesque.

  • This place has beautiful views, nice trails, and is full of history. We enjoyed going into the house and learning more about the Cone family. The ranger, Elizabeth, provided a wealth of interesting information. We would've liked to been there on a day that tours were offered. They are given during certain days and times. Overall, we had a great visit. I would reccomend this as a great location for travelers/ tourists.

  • Did the free tour of the manor. Learned the property history and saw the family living quarters. The gift shop has great local crafts. There are many nice hikes nearby. My only complaint is the public restroom building nearby could use some upgrading.

  • cone Manor is a beautiful Park and Visitor Center near Blowing Rock. The house could be better maintained, but retained enough of his original architecture to be interesting. The Carriage trails offer some great, easy walking paths for almost any ability level. Wheelchair access to the house is available, but the pathways are not wheel friendly

  • Very cool Manor but need repairs. Sounds like they are going to remodel it. You can tour at various times but you need reservations, I believe it's free. Great place to relax. Has crafts inside to purchase. No pets allowed inside.
