Shocktober is a month-long event that takes place in Leesburg, Virginia in the month of October and invites all the daring souls to explore the haunted setting. It is hosted every year on the Victorian estate, Carlheim, a property that includes several outbuildings, numerous underground caves and the infamous Paxton Manor. The event organizers stage trained actors and a lot of scary items like snakes, spiders, clown-themed tunnel and a lot more throughout the grounds and in over 32 rooms of the house. This is the perfect place for someone who loves Halloween and haunted houses, as you would be guaranteed to experience thrilling fear.

  • Really put a ton of effort into the haunted house I was impressed. It really shows. This is the first time visiting but it was pretty awesome! Proceeds go to a great cause and that makes it even better!

  • Yeah, that was pretty scary. Certainly worth it. Be prepared to jump consistently throughout, and remember it's for fun!

  • We love this haunted house....this is our 2nd year attending and will for sure go back again and again.

  • Wow! they so SUCH a great job here. All of the actors are volunteers. Even the makeup artists. And they do a fantastic job. The only criticism I have is that they should run the line through SOMETHING for you to do. You can wait for 2 hours in line and although the end result is worth it. They really need to have the vendors lined up along the line so you can hop out, grab a bite to eat, play a game, etc. and get back in line with your group. They do have roaming actors that come along the line, but not quite enough to entertain on such a long wait. They are one of the best haunted houses on the east coast, so they are only going to get more popular. Oh, and don't forget, they have a Valentine's Day haunted house as well.

  • Lots of fun and for a really good cause 😁🔪😱
