The Yamato Scrub is in South Palm Beach County, Florida. There is 217 acres of scrub, flatwoods, hammocks and marshes. The El Rio canal passes through the north while the Clint Moore road divides it in north and south tracts. Rich reserves of flora and fauna include palmetto, scrub oaks, gopher tortoise, marsh rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, pawpaw, staggerbush, tar flower, painted leaf, love vine, deer moss, large flower rosemary, iron weed and lesser Florida spurge. One can also spot variety of birds including mottled ducks, American coots, moorhens, pie-billed grebes, blue jays, cardinals and osprey. There is lack of drinking water.
