Kasbah Museum, Tangier Reviews
20 MAD (~$2 USD) on Jan 2018. I bet the garden is gorgeous when in full bloom. It was pretty dead when I visited though. The building itself/the architecture is stunning. The details in the woodwork is jaw dropping, and the classic marble columns against the open sky in the courtyard is, well, classic! The exhibits themselves didn't interest me very much -- but that's probably more me than them. In sum, if the garden is in season, I imagine it would be quite a wonderful place to spend your time for 20 MAD.
There are not too many very old structures left in Tangier, but the Kasbah Museum is definitely one of the largest and most interesting places to visit. I enjoyed walking around the shaded interior courtyards and the cool gardens are fairly elaborate.
Beautiful place. A must visit if in Tangier.
Not very extensive, but has a few interesting articles, like an old cloth wall map from 1154. Some food tile work, but nothing spectacular there either. Nice could chairs.
Brilliant museum with a great range of artefacts and displays in a historic setting. Findings range from epic roman mosaics, old berber jewellry, islamic carvings and ceramics, portuguese gravestones and displays detailing every aspect of the history. Impressive. Also has a beautiful cool garden.
