Highest point in Bora Bora, this is an intimidating remnant of an ancient volcano. With a towering height of around 2400 feet from the lagoon, this extinct volcano mountain was once the centre of the island. It’s striking black appearance in the verdant jungles and blue sea makes up for a picturesque delight.
The mountain can be observed from below and the hiking up is difficult. The brittle volcanic rock is fragile to hold human weight and legend says, no one has ever successfully hiked up to the top!
The scattered altars and leftover US cannons from WW II can be observed during the excursions.
