It’s not often that a simple cinema is a famous landmark, so when it happens there has to be something special going on. In this case, it’s the old fashioned charm of the place. Breaking away from the typical cinema decoration that plays off glitz and glamour, Utopia looks more like a laid-back theatre. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting; the movie tickets are cheap; the popcorn is to die for; and the world movies are all in their original language with French subtitles. It’s a cinephile’s wet dream. Oh, and that laid back building you’re in? It was once a church. If ever there was temple to films, this is it!

  • Excellent independent cinéma based in a converted church. The screens aren't big but the quality is great and the seats are really comfy.

  • True independent cinema that used to be an old church. Great choice of movies. No pop corn or ice creams unfortunately (lol..well actually that is a wonderful thing..the real deal!)

  • Great little place! We watched a screening of Buster Keatons The General for 4 euro! A shame that most of the movies are in French though, as the movies don't have subtitles.

  • Gorgeous cinema set in an old church. Food served, but not popcorn, strangely enough.

  • So many reasons to love this place... The building, the history, the cultural importance and activity, the food...
