Samuel Adams Brewery, Boston Reviews
We loved the free brewery tour at Sam Adams in Boston. Our tour guide was Sarah....she gave us great info on how they brew the beer and we got to taste 3 different beers for free!!! As we tasted Sarah explained how to judge beer and what to look for and taste!!! Sarah also was so helpful in giving my husband and I directions to the subway to get back into downtown.......she went way beyond to help us!!! Take the tour!!!
It was a fun tour for all ages. Not too long. Kids get a root beer at tasting time and can hang out it the bar area after. You get to taste established beers and test a new one. Then you can vote to help the company decide to push it to production. Apparently there is also a $30 tour that gives you barrel beer tasting and a cheese plate but we took the free tour We had a side conversation with our guide who explained that they were doing an internal competition and whomever won could produce their beer at larger scale. Staff is super nice.
Tour is pretty short (30-40 minutes) but you get samples of beer at the end. I think we got to try 3 beers. And it's free. They just ask for a $2 per person donation that they send to one of three charaties. Pretty cool. Then you can go in the tap room and keep drinking their awesome beers
This location is like the "test kitchen" for Sam Adams. The brew masters experiment by making all different kinds of beer that are not distributed by Sam Adams. You could end up drinking something that isn't mass produced and distributed until years later. Some beers won't be distributed at all. Brewery tours are free and highly informative. Haley was an excellent tour guide. At the end of the tour you get three free samples of different beers. The brewery also has a tap room with a large selection of different brews. It's a truly unique experience. If you are looking for classic Sam Adams or something off the beaten path or both, this is the place for you
Great free tours! Very cool atmosphere at the brewery and so nice of them to offer free tours. Went with my wife and 11 year old daughter so it is kid friendly. They had root beer for the kids and generous 3 full 10 ounce samples at the end of the tour. Decently interactive tour with lots of information. The tour itself lasted about 30 minutes and another 30 minutes in the tasting room afterwards showing us the 3 sample beers. Overall I would recommend it for anyone including families.
