Approximately 40 kilometres southwest of Ipoh in the modest town of Bota Kanan, is the River Terrapin Breeding Centre. The hatchery is situated near the Perak River bank that was once was home to an abundance of these river creatures. From the month of November to February, the people visiting here can get the chance to see migrating river terrapins swimming upstream in order to lay their eggs. Visitors might even get the opportunity to help release young terrapins into Sungai Perak’s natural habitats. You can enter the breeding centre for free and get to have a wonderful experience of a lifetime.
