Amazing glimpse into the Magniot Line fortifications - the bunker system is incredibly well preserved and huge in scope! The 3 hour tour is great value at 12 euros, although if you want it in English you have to book ahead (I jumped on a German tour but knowing some WW2 background helped me understand most of it through context). Bring something to keep you or kids warm as it's about 9 Celsius in the bunker and you quickly chill! Info in English is essentially nonexistent, but to see some of the above-ground structures and tank/infantry defences you'll need to follow the red and green trails (no charge). I just drove slightly north and parked on the E85 road which has easier access - you can't miss the tank defences! All-in-all a great attraction and great value - I highly recommended the tour.
Great place to visit. Only 12 Euro per person for about a 3 hour tour which includes walking through the building with a guide, a movie and a train ride. Very interesting and eye opening.
Great tour with a multimedia phase and guided portion. There is a cafe and gift shop. Tours are offered in German, French and English (language selection is easy through online tour booking). The German version was quite good, and the site itself is very impressive.
Must seen... very interesting and good audio and video presentation. Nice tourguide with lot of stories to tell.
Staff very friendly and organised a tour in English for us. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit the barracks but we did learn a lot. Do tell staff if you don't intend to see everything, as tours are escorted and you can't walk about as you please; this could be an issue for some people. Biggest challenge is the website. There was no confirmation of our booking, but we turned up at the time we requested anyway. There was a school trip at the same time as us, but after waiting 25 minutes we got a private tour which made up for the delay. Local town of Bitche wasn't up to much, and the chateau was closed for renovation. Nearly everything was closed for lunchtime.
