One of the hiking trails close to Bozeman is the Middle Cottonwood Trailhead. This is one of the high-difficulty hiking trails near town. Wildflowers are a common occurrence in the spring and summer months here. You will often see dogs hiking along the route with their owners. The route is parallel to the Middle Cottonwood Creek. It ends at the summit of the Saddle Peak. Most of the climb towards the mountain is quite steep and exhausting. Middle Cottonwood Trail Reviews & Ratings
Great place for multi use! Great for dirt biking, hiking and horse back riding. I have used this trail for over twenty years. Still the same!
Beautiful place. Friendly people. Great climb
This is a beautiful summer trail and is easily my dog's favorite. It follows the creek up the valley with several crossings along the way. Around 3 miles up the trail opens up to some amazing vistas. The snow sticks around well into spring so be prepared.
Nice scenic trail running next to a creek. Heavily used though.
Unfortunately this trail seems to have become a canine toilet littered with poop. I actually counted 11 bags lying on the trail or just off the side of the trail on an early morning hike as well as numerous piles unbaged. The flowers are beautiful, the sound of the creek harmonious and it is a nice place to hike.
