Branson Cafe, Branson Reviews - Write a Review
Walked in Friday night at 7pm and sat for dinner with no wait. First thought waitress was cold but noticed she was only one waiting, gave her a second chance and she was GREAT (Kelly). Food was very quick for dinner time. Side salad was the freshest I have ever had In a Branson restaurant. My pork tenderloin was awesome only wish I could have had more. This place is a 5 star and we will be back :)
Food and atmosphere was good, desserts looked good (didn't have one so I can't say), but my goodness our waitress (Kelly) was rude! I understand restaurants get busy as I've been a waitress before myself, but that's no excuse to be snippy to the customers. Normally you get an option of toast or a biscuit with your breakfast entree. When I placed my order, she quickly spat out a list of options for which type of toast I could order. I asked, "oh I thought I could get a biscuit, is that right?". She snapped at me and said curtly, "no you can't have a biscuit because we're out of them and that's why I didn't say it as an option!" Well sh**... sorry to bother! I was very uncomfortable for the rest of my meal. If customers annoy you, don't work in food service.
The atmosphere was great, and the place resembled that restaurant that has truly been in operations since 1910. Most of the staff are of older age no that it matters... but when we were there we were never asked or approached after we received our order - to refill our water cups or coffee or just to make sure everything was OK - and the restaurant was a little bit busy but I think they have to get better in that aspect. The food was good not excellent but good. The fried steak that my wife ordered was great and very enjoyable my biscuits and gravy were good I think the gravy could've been thicker and richer with more meat. The price were VERY reasonable.
I have no idea why this restaurant got such good ratings??? The only reason my family went there was because it got good reviews and we waited more than an hour to be served breakfast...and that was after we ordered our food. Yep, breakfast! The quickest, easiest meal for a restaurant to make. Our waitress was an older lady who was really nice but never came to check on us. My recommendation would be not to waste your time at this place.
The food was good and wait staff pleasant. However, it's the first place I've ever been that the hostess didn't give you a menu or walk you to your table and just pointed you to your table from the register by the front door. She then sat down to do a word search till she pointed her next customer to their table or rang them out at the register. (The waitresses could've used some help filling drinks, etc because they were pretty busy).
