About Walmart Supercenter, Branson

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (), doing business as Walmart, is an American multinational retailing corporation that operates as a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores. Headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, the company was founded by Sam Walton in 1962 and incorporated on October 31, 1969. As of January 31, 2017, Walmart has 11,695 stores and clubs in 28 countries, under a total of 63 banners. The company operates under the name Walmart in the United States and Canada. It operates as Walmart de México y Centroamérica in Mexico and Central America, as Asda in the United Kingdom, as the Seiyu Group in Japan, and as Best Price in India. It has wholly owned operations in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, and Canada. It also owns and operates the Sam's Club retail warehouses. Walmart is the world's largest company by revenue – approximately $480 billion according to the Fortune Global 500 list in 2016 – as well as the largest private employer in the world with 2.3 million employees. It is a family-owned business, as the company is controlled by the Walton family. Sam Walton's heirs own over 50 percent of Walmart through their holding company, Walton Enterprises, and through their individual holdings. Walmart is also one of the world's most valuable companies by market value, and is also the largest grocery retailer in the U.S. In 2016, 62.3 percent of Walmart's US$478.614 billion sales came from its U.S. operations. The company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 1972. By 1988, Walmart was the most profitable retailer in the U.S., and by October 1989, it had become the largest in terms of revenue. Geographically limited to the South and lower Midwest up to the mid-1980s, by the early-1990s, the company's presence spanned from coast to coast‍—‌Sam's Club opened in New Jersey in November 1989 and the first California outlet opened in Lancaster in July 1990. A Walmart in York, Pennsylvania opened in October 1990, bringing the main store to the Northeast. Walmart's investments outside North America have seen mixed results: its operations in the United Kingdom, South America, and China are highly successful, whereas ventures in Germany and South Korea have failed.

  • Good selection, but it should have as it is a large Walmart. Is normally clean and well-stocked. Even when busy I can almost always find a good parking spot. Go just for the crazy Branson local and tourist people-watching. Seriously, you'll feel like a very normal human being after shopping there. Know those websites where people post photos of Walmart shoppers that are, well let's say, very interesting? I feel as though 90% might come from this location. I still really like this Walmart! It is one of the largest in the southwest Missouri area and has a different selection of items than most because it also caters to a touristy crowd along with the locals.

  • Good value and great prices but they need to tolerate other races no just white people, a gentleman around 65 years old is been harassing me and treating me like a delinquent, I been buying in this place since they open few years ago and I never feel like that until the last 4 or 5 visits, he stop me in the doors and start checking my receipts and the merchandise in my cart looking for something unpaid, and I'm 40 years with a great job , no need to steal anything and talking with friends at work that told me similar stories about the place asking the Hispanic community for receipts, we are in 2017 please stop harassing like that, I give you 2 starts this time I hope things change in the near future

  • Most Walmart stores are great. This one has not near enough help in the front end. I would be afraid to grocery shop here because the milk could get warm in the 30 minutes in line. 3 star might be a little harsh but I hold Walmart to a high standard

  • Love the clothes selection ,styles, versatility, and lrices. Had to look for associates for help, none around. Disappointed with the staff availability and knowledge. Had to ask for help. The one I asked did not work in the area and advised me to continue to seek out an associate.

  • It's big so they usually have everything I'm looking for. Always clean. I love the family bathroom. I have 3 children. 6, 15 months, and 3 months. The 2 youngest, being under 2, it's nice we can all go in the bathroom no problem. Don't have to worry about the 15 month old running off. I wish all Walmart had a family bathroom.
