The Rope Street (Strada Sforii) is one of the narrowest existing streets in Europe- being only 135 centimetres at its widest point and 111 centimetres at its narrowest! Strada Sforii finds a mention in 17th century documents and was built as a corridor for firemen’s use. The corridor is 260 feet long and is adorned by vintage looking lanterns of the surrounding buildings with a few spots along its length converging in arches above your head. A walk here can be quite an unique experience- contradictory to the wide, crowded roads we are used to see.
