The Museum of the Urban Community of Brasov is located in the old fortress of the city designed in renaissance style. The museum was founded in 1950 and occupies the former Council House on the main square of the city.
The museum’s collection consist of gorgeous wall paintings, beautiful furniture, guild exhibits, old vintage clothes showcased on mannequins, cutlery, weapons, kitchen furniture, armours, tools, a medicine and herbs section and a World War exhibit that is the highlight of the place. You truly step back in time when you enter the museum and along with the detailed explanations, the place offers a good way to get to know the city and just how the people of Brasov lived. The craft artefacts and the a section of old photos complete the picture. Don’t forget to visit the muuseum gift shop to buy a souvenir before you leave.
