This is the largest theatrical floating stage in the world. The Bregenzer Festspiele (Bregenz Festival) performing arts summer festival’s greatest events are usually held at this unusual amphitheatre. Most of the performances are operas, many classic, a good number of them contemporary. In either case, the 7000 seater open air theatre serves up one of the best theatrical experiences in Europe. And even if you’re not inclined to catch a show at night, it’s worth it to come and look at the stage at daytime. Try catching it at sundown. But if you can, start trying to book tickets as early as possible, and catch a show.
Trivia: This is where the 2008 Bond film Quantum of Solace scene was filmed.

Seebuehne Reviews & Ratings
Really impressive and interesting building to host a sea theater. The place is big and has an event Centre and a nice seaside sitting. The shows seemed really fun although I didn’t visit during a show. I was told a lot of nice things about the performance. It’s really a nice place to visit. I loved the holidays relaxation atmosphere around the water.
Haven't seen a show here yet but a friend of mine lives in town and showed us the Spielhaus. What a great setup and imaginative idea for outdoor performances! It was nice just to walk around and see the setup (Rigoletto) and he told us how the theatrics and stage work. Very cool!
It's a fascinating place to visit right there at the lake in Bregenz and if you are visiting during the summer (July-August) you can actually buy tickets and see the play... that's a great experience!
Beautiful location, with a gorgeous view over the lake, the food is tasty and the portions are big, prices are more than faire, and the staff is really friendly and helpful. Totally recommend it!
The center is great! I have never seen anything like it! We saw live the stage for Rigoletto, which is the opera presenter there this year. The stager from the previous years are also very impressive! I definitely recommend a visit there if you are near Bregenz!
