In Bregenz forest at Hittisau, about 30 km from Bregenz, is Austria’s only women’s museum. It doesn’t seem to have any permanent exhibition, but two-three special exhibitions are held here throughout the year. These are extremely thoroughly curated and produced. The museum seeks to acknowledge the contribution of women from around the region, and spread awareness of gender conditioning. It holds educational seminars and activities for adults and children alike.
