Overlooking the picturesque Lake Michigan is the 650-acre long Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman. It is owned and operated by American Electric Power and named after Donald C. Cook, the former Chairman of the Board of American Electric Power. The nature trails through dunes and woods, providing a beautiful view of the lake, are one of the most recommended activities in Bridgman. Earlier open to all visitors, the power plant now allows only educational visits on its premises. The main center of attraction if the 26-feet tall rotating, 3-D animated model of the plant which explains the intricate working of the nuclear reactor.

  • This plant is outdated and should be shut down, check the facts, Chernobyl was built with higher standards and codes. Check the facts! And get this ticking time bomb away from our great lakes.

  • Very interesting and cool place to work and visit you ever get a chance to go to The Visitor Center I highly recommend it but it's doubtful the security there is top-notch and very very hard to get in
