Overlooking the picturesque Lake Michigan is the 650-acre long Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman. It is owned and operated by American Electric Power and named after Donald C. Cook, the former Chairman of the Board of American Electric Power. The nature trails through dunes and woods, providing a beautiful view of the lake, are one of the most recommended activities in Bridgman. Earlier open to all visitors, the power plant now allows only educational visits on its premises. The main center of attraction if the 26-feet tall rotating, 3-D animated model of the plant which explains the intricate working of the nuclear reactor.
