  • Best (open air) museum I know. 25sfr entrance fee - completely worth it! I recommend you to have a look at the shops since they sell some interesting goods (we have bought cheese and some herbal medicine).

  • Very helpful and courteous staff. Freshly prepared onion soup (free) in the kitchen of an old house, served by a friendly cook. The buildings are a must see. Most of them belonged to agriculture based households. These are well preserved and transport you in a different era !!

  • This is a wonderful place to visit even in a rainy day. One will find a lot of old Swiss farmer's houses and demonstrations that you can participate in, for example, a butter making activity. Good thing is that you can actually buy a product that staff members make on site. In this regard, this is not just a static museum but dynamic.

  • I was impressed by beauty of this place as well as originality. There are a lot of house animals, old houses from the different parts of Switzerland. Also you may taste fresh house cheese and bread, and see how it cook local villagers. And here are restaurant and cafe if you are hungry. Highly recommend for family holiday.

  • Excellent museum of Swiss culture and history. Set in a beautiful location too. Great place to spend a whole day with family.
