  • Check in and out was easy. The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. Great that you offer free coffee and water in the room. Would have liked to have a king bed rather than two doubles as I was only a single guest. Not a fancy room, but comfortable and clean.

  • I found the hotel location perfect for connecting with my onward rail journey to Cairns and, having just arrived from England, particularly appreciated the complimentary late check out. The room aspect was also very good, allowing me to see the Roma Street station and reassure me of the distance involved. Unfortunately, the noise from the railway was an issue during the night, but short of installing triple glazing, would be difficult to overcome. The room could have been a little cleaner but was very well appointed and had thoughtful touches, like the pod coffee machine and hairdryer. I was very pleased with my stay and sad to learn that the hotel is to close to allow the railway to be extended. Hopefully, Jen will be able to find another suitable location nearby.

  • The people that work at The Jen Hotel were very friendly and attentive. I was so happy I got a bath in the bathroom as I don’t have a bath only a shower. However when I ran the bath water there was hot water that came out the hot and cold taps which was a minor detail because it was fixed when mentioned to your cleaners. However the bathroom walls, taps, shower heads were not clean. I was really a disappointing bath. There were splash marks all over the bathroom. I didn’t rate breakfast as I didn’t have any because of early departure.

  • Location to the city is fantastic and a beautiful walk near Roma Gardens. The hotel beds were a bit too deep and I didn't have a comfortable rest. The rooms were spacious and clean. Everything else was great! The hotel won't exist in 2019 so I'd assume areas for improvement aren't high on the agenda.

  • The public areas of the hotel show great personality. It would have been nice to see a little of that in the bedrooms. They were just a bit boring(?). Nothing wrong with them, just bland which was out of character to the rest of the hotel. Room was spacious, bed comfortable. Train noise was very minimal, sounded a bit like distant thunder, did not affect sleep quality at all. Jug & tea/coffee would have been better placed closer to the coffee machine. Great range of bathroom supplies although if the room was for two it would make sense to have 2 soaps, 2 toothbrushes. Front desk staff were very lovely and efficient. Room service menu reasonably priced. Credit card surcharge but forewarned at booking and also at the reception desk so no problem. Great location.
