Jeanneke Pis - Review

Can’t let boys have all the fun. This bronze statue of a little naked pigtailed girl gleefully urinating from atop her limestone base was installed in 1987 to complete Manneken Pis, the statue of a little boy urinating. Since it is so new most people don’t know this statue exists, and they really should. Also contributing to its lack of popularity is the fact that she’s inside a protective cage, in a hard to notice corner in front of Delirium Cafe. Still, worth a pic.

  • This completes the Trilogy of weeing statues in Brussels. If you visited the little boy and the dog then you got to visit the little weeing girl! I haven't seen or heard of a similar statue in the hole world, I find it quite unique and fascinating at the same time. Don't miss it!

  • Located at the end of a discreet alley, this is one of three "urinating" statues available in the city. However, this one is probably not as popular as the other two due to its location as it is surrounded by bars in a rather tight alley. As a result, it may not be kid friendly due to the environment (eg. Cigarettes, Alcohol and etc.). Also, the statue itself was protected by a gate which prevents individuals to take any decent photo without placing your phone behind the bars. Nevertheless, I personally appreciated the art and if you are in the area, I would still recommend paying it a visit. Hope you enjoy the playful artwork!

  • Less crowded but equally weird as manneke pis. Grab a a beer at delirium cafe while you’re at it!

  • Not worth the walk , and it’s cover up with grilles. Can give it a miss unless you have lotsa time to spare

  • Not as well-known as her twin, Manneken Pis, his female equivalent is located in a small alley, safe and secure behind the bars. Be sure to listen to the history behind this monument.
