Youth Hostel Van Gogh, Brussels Reviews
I am a relaxed traveler, I’ve been to hostels around the world, from Budapest to Bogota, but in all of them had something that his didn’t, that was Security. The night before I left, one guy enter to my room using a card from the hostel, he didn’t break in, he just enter with the key. Basically the guy enter and started looking at everything saying he was from the hostel, everybody in the room believed him because how he was dressed and because of how he entered. The guy spread a smell and we all fall asleep, next day some of our things were gone. The sad part is that later I heard that my peers said that the security was vague because when they forgot their key, they ask the front desk and they didn’t even asked for he name, they just simply gave them. Please do not stay at the hostel, trust me, or else you’ll get robbed
The hostel is rather good. As for locating it is not far from city centre. The rooms are not big, the bed is good and comfortable. The only problem for me was the lack of sockets in the room. I wasn't able to charge my phone. Staff is really friendly and breakfast is good.
This hostel is spacious and clean but the building is old so don’t mind the floor and ceiling. Bunk beds are stable and Breakfast is simple but great.
Good location. Its clean and tidy and only for young people who want to party all the time ;) I was in single room number 24 and I could hear everything from the corrido. Doors are not sound proof as they say. The worst thing was when someone from the room beside came late and when he walked in to his room the floor in mine was moving too making so much noise. If you have light sleep as me i wouldn’t reccomend as 22 silent hour doesn’t exist there. I just had different purpose by coming to Brussels and it wasn’t partying. Breakfast which is included it’s just a toast with slice of cheese, coffee and cereals. In total it’s ok. Greetings!
In general it's ok and the staff were nice. I just don't get the idea of placing the entrance of the shower in the middle of a bar. Imagine you just want a warm shower before bed but have to walk in your pyjamas all the way through a bar place where people dress up for drink.
