Thor's Hammer is a spectacular example of hoodoos that have formed with natural erosion and processes. It is also sometimes referred to as a tent rock or fairy chimney. These kind of hoodoos is formed mainly because of erosion processes and may be found in bad land areas when relatively hard rock overlays softer and more erodible rock basically like sandstone. Here the sandstone that is found is from the Claron Formation. The harder and the more resistant cap rock protects the softer underlying layers from frost, wind, rain, freezing and thawing so that the rate of erosion is slower than what it is supposed to be otherwise.

Thor's Hammer Reviews & Ratings
The area can be the start or the end of the hiking. It has a wonderful view around here. I recommend the Navajo trail by this area but it will be mildly strenuous.
Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah is one of the most scenic places on Earth. There are so many unique rock formations and colors that you must put this on your bucket list. The hoodoo shapes are truly unique and there are many trails and overlooks to stop at. Make sure to bring your camera and spend a couple of days here. This particular stop is known as Thors Hammer and you can see by the photograph how fitting it is.
Absolutely scenic beauty is this place. Wonderful mountains. Rocks of different shapes and sizes, some are really weird. Nice place for hangout or may be for weekend family picnics. Definitely one of the finest places.
Not as cool as I thought it’d be, given the name and hype
Le plus médiatisé A droite de sunset point il est visible depuis le belvédère. Mais il y a tellement de forme diverses de rochers dans ce parcs certains sont aussi caractéristiques. Enfin celui ci est l'emblème.
