Dedicated to St George the Martyr in Baia, orthodox church was founded in the 15th century and is the oldest church in the city. It was built in celebration of the defeat of Hungarians in the battle of Baia in 1467. Though it's come close to destruction a few times thanks to war and looting, luck has preserved it through. Try walking by at night, when the church is prettily illuminated. Inside, the church is nothing short of gorgeous - bright frescoes, stained glass windows, inscriptions, and murals. The altar is especially beautiful.

Biserica Alba Reviews & Ratings
Beautifull old church very conveniently located in the middle of town. The paintings are made by Gheorghe Tattarescu, one of the more notable Romanian painters. The contrast between the quiet green space that surrounds the church, the white simple walls, hence "The White Church", the busy and noisy streets around it and the various colours and styles of buildings near by makes a visit worth while.
Happened to bypass this church located in the neighborhood. The church was new and beautiful. It stands out between the two old buildings located beside and gave a good contrast. With due respect, I managed to quietly and quickly take a few pictures with my iPhone inside the church with intend to post in google map. However I was caught by the priest and was asked not to take picture. I felt that it will be ok for someone to take picture if we respect the surroundings and do it quickly and quietly. It's for us to share the magnificent of the interior. Again, I respect what the priest did so as not to disturb others.
Russian monotone chanting in the Romanian language.........😑
