This niche museum is highly popular among the kind of people who might be interested by its offerings. Set inside a beautifully decorated neo-Gothic building, the 16 rooms of the museum host some 800 items - maps from every age covering the histories of Bucharest, Romania, the planet, and history too. The exhibits are all intuitive arranged, and somehow manage to convey an impression of both austerity and charm. Also appreciated are the stained glass works.

Muzeul National Al Hartilor Si Cartii Vechi Reviews & Ratings
The place has some really great exhibits, some of them being surprisingly old and well restored. The ladies in charge were extremely kind and helpful. It is advised to visit it during a working day, early in the morning so as to have the pleasure of admiring the exhibits without being distracted by loads of visitors or noise. It was a notable experience for a person who has a thing for maps.
Although I'm not necessarily passionate about this stuff, I have founded it quite attractive for the two hours we spent there (a friend took me to the museum). Though we couldn't figure out a couple of dates from the maps on the top floor. On top of that, I was also left with the impression that it seemed a good place to bring your kid (there even are a few mini- games there). Very educative experience, which I also recommended to some friends and acquaintances.
Beautiful building, well structured layout, friendly for children (they have a treasure hunt game for Kids 7+).
One of the most active museums in Bucharest. Though small, they always have some special events running. Great activities for kids of all ages.
An interesting museum, child friendly. The children can follow clues on the maps. You can find maps from XVIth century with Europe.
