Romanian Athenaeum , Bucharest Reviews
This venue is exquisite! If you visit Romania, you'd feel like a winner when you go see a concert at this Hall! The Romanian Athenaeum was built in 1888 in the French style of the time, and it has one of the best Organs in Europe, but the organ is German made. Its sound and acustic is spectacular! The dress code is festive, evening gowns recommended.
Emblematic building for the cultural life of Bucharest. Historical place opened in 1888. Original architecting mix between old Hellenic style and neoclassic structures. Nice cupola and am unique circular historical fresca inside. You can book a visit tour but to better assimilate the cultural spirit you have assist to the Romanian Philharmonic orchestra live performance. Almost all worldwide biggest conductors performed here, a lot of well-known solo artists and almost all of the biggest classic or baroque music orchestras performed during George Enescu's Festival.
Amazing unique architecture , astonishing acoustic to reinforce all senses and experience the true pleasure from enchanting music. Money for this building were contributed by people of Bucharest. Nowadays Symphony Orchestra performs on premises.
The most visited place, when in Bucharest, after Casa Poporului. Definitely a must-see.
we got there in the morning. so no concert was played. there is no official tours guide but for 10 LEI per person you will get a short visit in the building which is very impressive. the person who guide us didn't know English but was very welcoming. i think this is worth its price. the big bonus was that we could see the repetitions for concert with out any other audience. highly recommended to come at the morning to see the building. You need to ask the locals to show you the entrance
