Opened in 1965, the large public park is the local family retreat in southern Bucharest, which also known as Sector 4. They say it has some of the best playgrounds in the city, including the fantastic Oraselul Copiilor mini-amusement park. You can rent bicycles from an l'Velo outlet close to the park entrance. The strolling and cycling trails circle around the central Lake Tineretului. During summers you can rent pleasure boats and take them out into the water. Make sure to check out the Cafeneaua Actorilor de Vara. In the middle of the park is a large indoors sporting and music venue called the Sala Polivalenta. There are more playgrounds in the Parcul Vacaresti or Parcul Copiilor - steam engines, go-kart, sport courts and even a barbeque area.

  • Great park for a walk alone or with your dog. And quite fit for a picnic or playing football/basketball. It's situated across the street from a metro station and not far from the city center. The park is quite large and packs both a well kept lawn as well as wild nature areas, football fields, playgrounds, a skate park, some restaurants and a bicycle renting stand. You can find places to buy a snack or some water but they are scarce. In my opinion, there are also too few water fountains (with drinkable water). Too few public toilets. And no maps what so ever so you need to either ask or hope for the best.

  • Great park. We rent a bike to ride around. It seems a little forgotten. It can be better maintained. Yet it is very nice for a walk /ride or even have a picnic. There are also sport facilties and kids playgrounds.

  • Such a lovely place in Bucharest. Perfect for some time alone or for different things such as running, taking a girl on a date, taking your dog for a walk. It's quite big and beautifully diverse. Meditation by the lake is one of my favorite activities here. Reading a book or renting a bike or skating are also good suggestions. Just give it a try and I'm sure you'll get inspired by this beautiful retreat from everyday commotion.

  • This is a park with all the perks. You can walk, relax, enjoy quiet time near the lake with family but you can also go in the amusement side where you will find all kinds of fun rides and stuff to make your day better.

  • Great park.A lot of green spaces, benches to take a break.some side paths where is less crowded and can go for a nature walk between trees.I always go there with my puppy. The downside are the uneducated people who are leaving trash behind...hope this will get fixed soon with the education of new generations.
