Obuda was basically one of the oldest towns in Hungary. Not a lot is known about the history of this place, but the locals have a lot of legends that have been passed from generations to generations. Obuda literally means old buda. It was merged with Buda and Pest in the year 1873. There are various museums here. Although not a lot of stories are known of Obuda, but even so there have been signs of settlements found here ever since the stone age. This place also housed a Jewish Elementary school which lost to the tragedy of Holocaust. There are also some local football teams here and all in all this district is a really fun place to visit when in Budapest.
