Cafe Tortoni, Buenos Aires Reviews
This place came highly recommended to see a Tango performance. The cost of 450 AR was worth it. A nice small intimate room to watch the performance. We were lucky to pick up tickets earlier in the day for that evening. It would have been nice if you could make the reservation online. Plenty of time to order and eat before the show if you wish, or just enjoy a nice glass of wine while you enjoy the performance.
It’s a cafe established on 1858 and has a character. We had lamb with vegetables, hamburger, ice coffee and pizza. Food was good and they served reasonably fast. They also have a Tango Show at 8pm and costs around 450 Pesos. The waiter wrote a total with extra 90 pesos with pen and said that’s the total amount including service. This was never done in any other store.
This shouldn't be a cafe. Instead it must be a ballroom or a reception hall for foreign dignitaries, like myself. Right. It's hard to understand or to parlay the atmosphere of this place. But if Grand Central in New York had very decadent and artsy sexual encounter with Moulin Rouge in Paris, this would be the love child. Jesus. It's fkng enormous, spacious, loud, and cozy all at once. Chocolate cake 🎂 is delicious and world famed daily tango shows take place downstairs. love this place.
I love the place, coffee so so, chocolate espeso great! Tango show is only $27 dollars per person and it is a great show just make your reservations and come back later on in the evening and you will not regret it. Customer service great overall.
Great place for an earlier (8 pm) tango show...they also have 10 pm. Probably need to reserve ahead at least a day. Show and dancing was very well done.
