The Cadiz Cathedral, also known as ‘Catedral Nueva’ in Spanish, was built in the 18th century and took around 116 years to complete! Built in High Baroque and Neoclassical style, it is topped by a yellow tiled dome. This element adds a Moorish feel to the cathedral. Visitors are granted access to the roof of the cathedral to take a closer look at the dome. From the top, one gets beautiful views of Cadiz. The Cathedral also has a museum. On display are religious paintings and sculptures.

Cadiz Cathedral, Cadiz Reviews - Write a Review
The Cathedral is very beautiful inside and out.😍It's characteristic gold dome, one can see from almost every corner of Cadiz. It stands on the lovely square just asking to be visited. Tickets €5 only, with audio guide, bell tower (views of all Cadiz it's a must😊) and cathedral museum included is a bargin of a day. Reminds me of the Pantheon in Rome and St Paul's in London. Breathtakingly amazing.
Churches are churches, but the clock tower, wow! Five stars for the clock tower alone. Best views of Cadiz. Climbing is via a helical ramp, inside the tower, with a few steps at the end. But the views, phew! The clock bells ring every 15 mins while you are up there so beware of that, it is rather loud.
I have visited several grand cathedrals in Spain and other countries, and this was by far the best in terms of experience. For 5 euro, you get to see several rooms in the church and ascend the bell tower. They also gave us an audio guide in English which explained the history and significance of all the artwork. I was there for 45 min because they were closing but I could have stayed a lot longer.
Nice Cathedral in the center of Cadiz. Entrance of 5 Euros includes the Audio guide. The crypt has an amazing echo!
A lovely place to visit. Very informative and very interesting. If you are in Cadiz make sure you visit
