The Theatre At Caesarea National Park overlooking the azure blue Mediterranean Sea boasts of being one of the ancient open-air amphitheaters in Israel. With a capacity of around four thousand visitors, the Theatre At Caesarea National Park was constructed during the reign of Herod the Great. Walking along the walkways or climbing the stone seats will make you feel how grand this place used to be. Some of the highlights you will find here are the bleachers or the caves, the orchestra, vomitoria which acted as the entrance and exit, the throne pedestal of Herod, the changing rooms in the tunnel built beneath the main stage and the backdrop or the Scaena frons.

  • A must see! Great sites, great shops and restaurants! All different types of food, including great fish dishes, hot and cold sandwiches and excellent art shops with homemade crafts for kids and adults, wish I bought more things than I did!

  • Interesting. Should go outside rush hour. Theater is reconstruction made with concrete, but nonetheless nice to see. Careful about the opening hours! Theater and hippodrome close at 4.

  • Love this place ... it’s beautiful! Went there early December and the weather was perfect. Wonderful view by the sea. Highly recommend it.

  • Old and dusty but very pretty. We were here when it was 65 degrees, sunny and a light breezy on the sea. Would recommend it for anyone!

  • Definitely one of Israel's historic jewels! Look also for the attractions they have on holidays for kids, your kids will love it (and you too). However, note that most of the place isn't shadowed.
