Museo De La Vid Yel Vino, Cafayate Reviews
Very well thought out self-guide museum with information about the local wine and the history of the region. At the end there is an excellent shop featuring a huge selection of wines from several well known area Bodegas, and very reasonably priced too! You don't need to pay the 60 pesos entry fee (cheap!) just to visit the wine store. A few minutes walk from the main square.
Very nice museum. Great introduction to history and methods of winemaking in Cafayate and the Colchaqui valley. Should be part of your visit to Cafayate.
We have visited many wine museums around the world, and this one stands out. Very detailed description of everything surrounding the vines and the wines, especially liked the discussion around atmospheric conditions in the region, and the impact on water quality the soil. Highly recommended.
The first part is ok, not super interesting, but visually interesting. The second part telling the origin of wine in the area is much more interesting. A somewhat sterile exhibition overall, you can do it if you have extra time.
nice little museum with cool displays. Worth a look!
