Sella del diavolo, literally meaning ‘The Devil’s Saddle’, is a picturesque spot situated in Cagliari. It derives its name from the mythological anecdote which narrates how Lucifer, the fallen angel visited this place and was smitten by the beauty of Gulf of Cagliari and attempted to capture it. God sent the archangel Michael to fight him, and during the battle, Lucifer’s saddle fell and landed here. Thus the promontory was formed, according to Biblical texts.
This place epitomizes beauty, and the ethereal views from here will enchant you. The Mediterranean Sea looks awe-inspiring, and the wind blows with great strength. Visit this place for a magical experience.
