Fitzroy Island, Cairns Reviews - Write a Review

  • did a half day trip to this island from cairns and it was amazing. boat ride was not too long. the island has many secluded areas. nudey beach omg...i love it. clear pristine water. calm. great for photos. we snorkeled a bit and saw little fishes. there was hardly anyone around. then we walked around the island a bit. i could stay on this island for a while...

  • Easily the best island to visit from Cairns. It isnt nearly as crowded as other oslands nearby and has something for everyone. A tropical bar for a drink or lunch, hikes to the lighthouse or top of the island for 360 degree views to the usual tropical island watersports hire of paddleboards, snorkling equipment and kayaks. There's even dive or snorkel trips off the island and tours of the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.

  • Only stopped by on the way to moore reef but looks amazing would love to stay on the island.

  • You can hiking to the summit and see the whole island, also swimming and snorkeling in the see or just rest at beautiful beach enjoy sunshine

  • Beautiful island, great place to snorkel off the island. Good resort to relax with family, couples or friends. Things to do: Definitely worth the walk to Nudey Beach, but for snorkelling I preferred snorkelling by the rocks to the left of the island (in direction of the lighthouse). Did not have to go diving to see giant clams. Good tour to visit turtle rehab center to learn more about the turtles. The trek up the summit is worth it, although can be tiring. Tours available to book for you to go diving at the outer reef. Stand up paddle board available for hire $20/hr. Only two restaurants on the choices are limited so for a foodie you probably don't want to stay too long on the island or bring and cook your own food. Limited reception, so great place if you really want to get away. If you really need to stay connected you could purchase WiFi at the resort or make the hike up the summit as the reception is best there!
