Hanging Church - Review
The church is so named because of its location above a gatehouse of the Babylon fortress. It’s famous for not only its Coptic Architecture, but also for being one of the first examples of the Basilican style. The entrance of the church is worth seeing as it is completely decorated and has an open courtyard, which has twenty nine steps leading towards the church. The church has marble pulpit, icons, murals and even inlaid screens. The most famous site of this church is the Virgin Mary which is definitely worth watching. Also, visit the popular attractions in the city by following Cairo itinerary 4 days.

Hanging Church, Cairo Reviews
Dare I say that it looks slightly more impressive from the outside than the inside? Yes, I do; and I just did.
There were many visitors when we visited this place. But it's worth to spend time and learn about how Christian arrived in Egypt. There are other churches and a Jewish synagogue nearby where you can enter for free and see the architecture from both inside and outside.
Interesting, historic church. It's well worth visiting with a Coptic guide to learn something of Coptic history, architecture, and tradition while you are there. You need to use your imagination to visualize how the church was "hanging" when it was constructed. It was built over the gate/wall of the existing Roman fortress, but over the centuries, the fortress walls became somewhat buried as the ground level built up.
Arrived Friday 10am which is one hour to early. However I said I will prayer and was allowed here during the sermon which was a incredible vibe. Worth every moment
Amazing place gives anyone peaceful spiritual environment. Highly recommended . The place provides the visitors with nice information about the beginning for our story 😇 as one nation
