Prince's Island Park - Review

Calgary’s own version of Central Park, the locals refer to Prince’s Island Park as an urban oasis. Located in Downtown Calgary, you need to cross the bridge to gain access to this park. If you’re traveling with children, get them here for an evening of running around, tossing around Frisbees or just lounging about in the greenery. Be careful of the river though; swimming is not advised and the currents are strong!

Prince's Island Park, Calgary Reviews

  • Love this inner city park! I moved back to Calgary from BC where I could hop on my bike and be in nature within 15mins. In Calgary I find it to be a cement jungle with lots of opportunities and structure...however lacking in nature beauty. I live across from this park and feel fortunate as this park is really calm and pretty.....and I'm able to walk to it often. Great bike paths! Beautifully landscaped. Love that they have festivals here and lots of spots to do yoga in private.

  • We just love this park. Just a few blocks walk from the C Train in Calgary Downtown. This is a beautiful park on a small island with the Bow River flowing right beside it. The park has lots of picnic area, green patches, huge trees, benches by the flowing river where one can watch the ducks swim and enjoy the beautiful view by the river. The park also has a big children's play area with swings, slides, jungle gym and other play things. During spring the park has beautiful flowers all over the place. One can easily spend 2-3 hours here with kids.

  • It's indeed a very beautiful and peaceful place. Its full of nature and is surrounded by bow river. Also has a river cafe inside. There are lot of activities happening in the park throughout. I happen to visit it quite often. It's one of my favorites in the city

  • A beautiful park on the Bow River, which is within walking distance of downtown. Perfect for walks and family outings. In good weather you have a beautiful view of the river and the skyscrapers of the city. I would recommend Prince's Island Park to anyone - a beautiful place.

  • Clean (except when geese decide it's their toilet) and vibrant park. Has a playground for kids and often has music or plays going on. Also good for Pokemon go players...
